Susana Ibáñez was born and lives in Santa Fe. She specialized in Comparative Literature and Culture at the National University of Córdoba, where she earned her doctorate with her thesis "Variations in the Noir Detective Novel: The Hero's Desire and Unhappiness in Culture" (2013).

 

She has published four collections of short stories: "By Intimate Conviction" (Juana Manuela Gorriti Prize, Salta, AVH, 1999), "Life at Ground Level" (Province of Córdoba Prize, Córdoba, Letras y Bibliotecas, 2018), "Learning to Float" (Moglia/Ojo lector, 2022), and "The Solidarity of Strangers" (Vera Cartonera/UNL, 2024).

 

She has published two novellas, "The Needle in the Eye" and "You Will See Me Return," under the title "I Swear It's for Your Good" (Palabrava, 2020; Pro Latina Press, 2021; Ápeiron, 2025). She has published two novels: Mientras vence afuera la sombra (While the Shadow Wins Outside) in 2021 and Fuerza de amarre (Of Air) in 2024. She coordinates in-person and virtual narrative workshops, clinics, and literary workshops.

 

Since 2021, she has been voluntarily coordinating a literature workshop at the Women's Correctional Unit IV. She has organized, together with Alicia Barberis and Mercedes Bisordi, the series Lecturas en las callecitas (Readings in the Little Streets) since 2020, and, with the Domingo Guzmán Silva Library, the Gathering of Writers of the Coast since 2022, both in San José del Rincón.
