In 2020, his novel Los desquiciados (HD Ediciones, 2017) participated in the Frankfurt Book Fair and was included in the Hotlist of South American authors.

Nicolás Guglielmetti was born in 1981 in Bahía Blanca. He studied literature at the National University of Santiago de Chile (UNS) and was part of Vox Ruta 33 and the EAPP, both programs aimed at training emerging writers.

 

He manages the website Destino Cultura and collaborates with the literary magazines opcit, Gramaje Cero, and Uoiea Fanzine.

 

He teaches creative writing workshops in various venues throughout the city. He is one of the founders of the Bahía Blanca Narrative Festival. His poetry has published nine titles, including Bella Vista (Vox Ediciones, 2015), Cruzar el desierto (Crossing the Desert, 2017), Antes que el tiempo arrase con todo (Unidad de Sentido, 2021), Ha muerto Maradona (Goles Rosas, 2022), El perro imaginario (Urgencia&Necesidad Cooperativa Editora, 2024), and Piel Plebeya (Halley, 2025).

As a writer, he has published the novels Fisher and the Refugees (17grises, 2016); The Unhinged (Hemisferio Derecho, 2017); and Will Robots Be Able to Dominate World Football? (Uoiea Ediciones, 2022). Zone of Influence (Unidad de Sentido, 2023), his first collection of short stories, was the winner of the “El Puerto Edita” Contest organized by the Bahía Blanca Port Management Consortium. The jury was composed of Luis Sagasti, Mónica Ortelli, and Laura Forchetti. His long story, “El que pega último,” was published in Uruguay by El viento editor in 2022. He was a member of the jury for the “Derivas Urbanas” and “El gol de tu vida” contests. Together with Claudio Dobal and Agustín Hernandorena, they were in charge of the training program for emerging writers called “Escribir la época.” It was organized by the BB Narrative Festival and ran for six months at the National University of the South.
