Pedro Medina León was born in Lima, Peru, in 1977.

His novel Warsaw won the 2017 Florida Book Award, and he is the author of the books Marginal, The Most Pop Girl in South Beach, Callejeros, Tour: A Tour of Miami's Popular Culture, Americana, Bandidos, and El Blues del Comanche.

He is the editor of the anthologies Viaje One Way, Miami (Un) Plugged, and Noir Tropical. He is also the creator and editor of the cultural portal and publishing house Suburbano Ediciones, a lecturer on Miami history and popular culture, and has studied literature at Florida International University and law and political science in his native country.
