Enzo Maqueira was born in Buenos Aires, Argentina, in 1977.

 

He is the author of the novels Higiene Sexual del soltero (2023), Hágase tú mismo (2018), Electrónica (2014), El impostor (2011), and Ruda macho (2010), and the book of chronicles and short stories Historias de putas (2008).

 

Sexual diversity, drugs, polyamory, and a critical look at the habits, vices, and customs of the middle class are some of the themes addressed in a work that achieved international acclaim with Electrónica, considered "the novel of a generation." Hágase tú mismo was a finalist for the Silverio Cañada Prize at the Semana Negra de Gijón for the best first crime novel in Spanish and won the special Ricardo Rojas Prize from the City of Buenos Aires.

 

He is a contributor to the newspaper Clarín and the magazines Anfibia, Vice, and Viva. His work has been translated into English, French, Italian, and Portuguese.
