Mario Zegarra (Lima, 1982) studied Hispanic Literature at the Pontifical Catholic University of Peru and earned a Master's in Creative Writing from the International University of Valencia (Spain).

He has published the thriller Tan Ignorado como aquí (Buenos Aires, 2019) and the hard-boiled Un maníaco homicida a la vez (Buenos Aires, 2021).

He is a member of La Abadía de Carfax, a circle of horror and fantasy writers founded by Marcelo di Marco. He has participated in the Lima International Book Fair on several occasions and in 2024 was invited to the 48th Buenos Aires International Book Fair by the Peruvian Ministry of Culture. ​

Zegarra is recognized for his captivating, somber, and resolute narrative style, his ability to portray complex and realistic characters in extreme situations, reflecting a distinct personality: madness, ironic wit, and despair. Mario is currently writing his fourth novel.
