Pablo Martínez Burkett (Santa Fe, 1965) is an Argentine lawyer and writer. Trained at the National University of Litoral and with a Master's degree in Business Law from the Austral University, he soon turned his passion to writing, also earning a Master's degree in Creative Writing from the University of Salamanca with honors, in addition to studies in New York and other universities in Europe and Latin America. For more than three decades, he combined university teaching with literature, giving courses and lectures in various countries.
His work explores supernatural and psychological horror and dark science fiction, always with a River Plate sensibility. With more than a dozen literary awards, his stories have been published in magazines and anthologies on both sides of the Atlantic and have been translated into several languages, including English, French, Italian, Portuguese, and Romanian. He has also served as a jury member for competitions, curated the Buenos Aires Legislature's Horror Reading Series, and co-hosted the program Insolentes del Renglón. She is currently a member of the Grite Group and the Oscuro Total collective, where she promotes meetings and dialogues on gender.
In addition to being a narrator, Burkett is an essayist, with contributions to Borges, Macedonio Fernández, Cervantes, and Lovecraft. Renowned for his polished and atmospheric style, he is an explorer of the uncanny: a writer who combines the cosmic with the everyday to reveal the universal fears that inhabit us.
